Daniel Castro is Vice President at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation (ITIF) and Director of its Center for Data Innovation. He writes on IT and internet policy, covering privacy, security, and governance. Quoted in major media, he was named a top 25 influential figure in tech and government (2013) and appointed to the Commerce Data Advisory Council (2015). Previously, he audited IT security at the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and developed cybersecurity training at Carnegie Mellon's Software Engineering Institute. He holds a B.S. from Georgetown and an M.S. from Carnegie Mellon.
